In 2024 Home Turf Art will present the Bookplate Art Project.
The Bookplate Art Project is a participatory art project designed to strengthen connections between artists, Brisbane City Council libraries and the community. A selection of commissioned Brisbane artists along with the wider creative community, will volunteer to create mini-bookplate artworks inspired by stories and books. These mini-artworks will be placed in books by volunteers to be discovered by book borrowers at Corinda Library between July and September 2024.
The creative community are invited to volunteer to make mini-artworks that library borrowers will discover inside books. You will help create a special experience for readers at the Corinda Library and other BCC libraries. We’ll be sharing some of these postcard-sized artworks on our social media too to share and document the project.
This project is funded by the Creative Sparks Grant Program. The Creative Sparks Grant Program is an initiative of Brisbane City Council in partnership with the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
Register your interest to participate NOW here!
After you register, we will email you more information on how to get involved. More information will also be posted to Home Turf Art socials in the coming weeks.
If you’re a library book borrower, keep an eye out for a bookplate artwork hidden inside one of your library books from commissioned artists and the creative community. Primarily, you’ll likely find these bookplate artworks at Corinda Library. If you find an artwork, remember it’s finders keepers or you can leave it for the next borrower to discover!
